5 Steps to Peer Mediation: 1 Parties agree to mediate, 2. Parties tell stories, 3. Parties focus on interest and needs, 4. mediators work on win-win situation, 5. parties evaluate options and create agreements
Peer mediation is a process where trained students act as neutral mediators. These students work with peers to uncover the root of causes of their disputes and decide on fair ways to resolving a conflict. Students who show interest can be apply to join the club, but ultimately elected based on showing discipline in following school code of conduct as well fulfilling club agreements.
